Residents of Sherwood enjoy a high standard of living with the third highest educational levels and second highest family income per capita in Arkansas. Sherwood is a safe, family-oriented community with city parks throughout the community, a 100-acre sports complex, two recreational facilities, an active senior citizens’ center, and year-round programs for youth of all ages. The city is currently investing millions of dollars into park improvements to maintain the very high quality of life Sherwood residents enjoy.
The City provides a number of outreach programs through our Police Department including community policing, School Resource Officers in all our public schools, and youth programs such as COPPS Kids and Explorers. The City of Sherwood has the lowest level of crime of any community in the Central Arkansas. Sherwood is proud of its many community volunteers and has been voted Volunteer Community of the Year by the State Department of Volunteerism on multiple occasions.
